Trying to picture the consequences here...
1. Helton for sure wouldn't come back (I say it's a done deal even now, but if there were any doubts...)
2. Recruiting would probably take a slight hit, but I don't see it really shifting much
3. Bruins get another year of bragging rights, 4 straight years talk on LA Times, yadda yadda yadda
Outside of that, I can't think of any major consequences. UCLA still hasn't gone anywhere, and they lose a lot on defense for next year. Don't get me wrong, every year this game is important and meaningful, but given the way the season has gone, the stakes seem lower.
If anything, losing 4 straight might rouse the fan base enough to really put pressure on Haden and Nikias to get the hire right. Is that a bad thing?
Not saying I want us to lose, but this game might be a win-win either way more so than most years.
