On a brighter note, after reading all the discontent from the posters on this site, and noting quite a few comments regarding the 'way' it use to be in terms of pride, tradition, toughness, and honor throughout USC history ... I want to mention a book I'm currently reading while being home for several weeks from prostate cancer surgery.
The title of the book is 'What It means to be a Trojan' by Steve Travers. The book was published in 2009, so some of you may be familiar. It's a collection of stories from past players from the 30's thru 2009. The stories are approx. 4-6 pages long on each player ... in their own words. Since the writing is by the players themselves, it's a little choppy and tough to read some of them.
All the players basically give there background as to where they're from and how they got to USC. They mention fellow players from the team, a key game or two highlights, the coaches (if you're a Goux fan, there are quite a few excerpts regarding him from the players of his time), and all end with a paragraph or two on what it meant to attend USC and be a Trojan.
Here's a list of the players featured in the book.
