With the unprecedented pressure from alumni, print and the tv media who previously strongly supported his every move now saying he needs to resign, combined with his health I just don't see him making this coaching hire especially in lieu of him admitting he is not going to be the long term AD.
It's just an extremely awkward situation where a new AD will come in and have to support Pat's last hire regardless of how you feel about him.
And yes I know he likes being on the Championship football committee and being in charge of the program and doesn't want to leave but this is not good for the university and even Max must recognize that despite what he publicly says.
Hell even coaches you interview will find it awkward when you say yes we want to offer you the position but you will have a new boss at the end of the year.
I guess we will see what happens but this doesn't look good.
