Every year, about this time, we see posts about how the sky is falling in on recruiting. Yet, come every February, the sky is in very good shape. This year is no exception, with posts showing up in April and May about supposed recruiting problems and how the Scruins are out-recruiting SC.
And of course, the assumptions that our acknowledged great recruiting staff don't know how to balance the next class or how to recruit for need. This is like sitting through a Stallone/Rambo movie worrying about him being captured and killed. It ain't happening. Book it!
SC will not, as they proved last year, end up with 12 WR's, although some posters actually whined about that possibility. They will not go blank on top talent DT's, although some were already lighting a candle for the class of 2015 in that regard. And finally, SC does not go in for early commits. Sure, they get a few but mostly they don't. In fact, LOI Day is our most productive day, even if it produces High Anxiety.
In recruiting, we just have to come to grips with "for it's a long, long time. From May to December".
