Why Not Arrest Governor Lujan Grisham . . . Pursuant to the Civil Rights Law the Biden Justice Department Is Using to Prosecute Donald Trump?

Section 241 of the federal penal code is the civil-rights conspiracy statute — the same one, in fact, that Biden Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith has dubiously charged against former president Donald Trump in the federal election-interference case. In the pertinent part, Section 241 states:

If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same[,] … [t]hey shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both[.]
The progressive activists who run the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division in Democratic administrations see civil-rights statutes as their license to overhaul the nation’s police departments and other institutions under the guise of “systemic racism.” There is no reason, however, why a Republican administration could not invoke them for their proper purpose — protecting the federal rights of all Americans.

Obviously, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham (D., N.M.) and her subordinates have conspired to injure, oppress, threaten, and intimidate Americans in New Mexico in the free exercise and enjoyment of their Second Amendment rights. Indeed, her acknowledgment that she expects to be challenged in court underscores both her criminal intent and the fact that the rights she has decided to “suspend” are well established in constitutional law.

For all their Trump-era prattle about norms, Democrats have now established the banana-republic practice of exploiting the criminal law as a weapon in political combat. Moreover, what Grisham has unabashedly done in defying the Second Amendment’s prohibition on governmental denial of the fundamental right of self-defense is more clearly a civil-rights violation than what Trump allegedly did to injure voting rights (see, e.g., United States v. Gradwell (1917), supporting the proposition that the federal civil-rights statute does not reach allegations of voting interference that (a) stretch far beyond the law’s original purpose to protect then-recently enfranchised black voters, and (b) turn on interpretations of state law).

That being the case, shouldn’t Republican presidential candidates commit that, in the next administration, the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division will target state officials who abuse their power by oppressing Americans in the exercise of such federal rights as bearing firearms — to say nothing of the parental right to control the care, custody, and management of their children’s upbringing against a radical state push for “gender affirmation”?

Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall took to CNN Saturday to blast the military promotion blockade spearheaded by Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL). The senator has put hundreds of military promotions and nominations on hold in retaliation for an updated policy that allows service members serving in states that have banned abortion access to the service.

“It’s totally unprecedented,” Kendall said on CNN. “Sen. Tuberville has no experience in the military. This is his first time I think in public service, and I don’t think he appreciates how much of an impact this is having and how negative an impact it is for the military.”

Kendall underscored the stressors the holds are having on military operations: “It’s very disruptive, it’s very debilitating. It basically is like throwing a big monkey wrench into the works of the Department of Defense.”

Cotton: DoD’s Using “Themself” in Military Awards Shows Misplaced Priorities

Washington, D.C.
— Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin criticizing the Department of Defense’s (DoD) decision to use “gender neutral” language in decoration and award citations. Specifically, DoD will incorporate “themself” instead of “himself” or “herself.”

In part, Senator Cotton wrote:

“The Department’s embrace of far-left gender ideology doesn’t merely subvert the English language in ways that would astonish George Orwell. Worse, it exemplifies a Pentagon leadership consumed by the fads of the faculty lounge at a time when the Army can’t hit its recruiting goals, the Navy can’t keep ships out of dry dock, and the Air Force can’t find spare parts for planes.”

Burisma: Yes, Joe Biden Is Corrupt

Yes, Joe Biden Is Corrupt

Let’s assume that Representative James Comer and his colleagues discover nothing else about the Biden family business, that the state of play stays exactly the same as it is now.

We already know that Joe Biden is corrupt.

He may not be Representative William Jefferson cash-in-the-freezer corrupt, or Governor Rod Blagojevich I’m-going-to-sell-this-Senate-seat corrupt. But he was complicit in an inherently corrupt enterprise that centered on selling access to him when he was a high official of the United States government who had incredible power and was entrusted with handling sensitive matters.

Consider Burisma, the corrupt Ukrainian energy company that paid his son lavishly to serve on its board. At any point, Biden could have shut down this operation to use his son to get to him, and at any number of junctures it should have been obvious — if it wasn’t all along — what was happening. Biden did nothing and, in fact, played along.

In other words, he made himself party to a grotesque influence-peddling scheme beneficial to his family. Is there any standard by which this is okay?

Did someone pay Bidens to weaken the United States?

"Who Is Biden Working For?" Admin Under Fire For 'Illegal, Reckless' Cancellation Of Alaska Oil Leases

Did someone pay Bidens to weaken the United States?

After canceling the Keystone XL pipeline project, draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to dangerously low levels (some of which was sold to a Hunter Biden-linked Chinese energy giant), and vowing "no more oil drilling" on US soil while America's geopolitical adversaries - two of whom paid his family handsomely - beef up their own energy independence, the Biden administration has done it again.

Last week the regime confirmed that it will cancel seven controversial oil and gas leasesin an area of Alaska known as the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), which were legally awarded from a 2021 sale.

"On day one of this administration, President Biden directed us to look at the oil and gas leases sold in the refuge by the previous administration," said Interior Secretary Deb Haaland in a Wednesday call with reporters. "What we have found in our analysis is that the lease sale itself was seriously flawed and based on a number of fundamental legal deficiencies."

Biden, in a written statement, said that the move will "help preserve our Arctic lands and wildlife, while honoring the culture, history, and enduring wisdom of Alaska Natives who have lived on these lands since time immemorial."

"As the climate crisis warms the Arctic more than twice as fast as the rest of the world, we have a responsibility to protect this treasured region for all ages," the statement continues, adding "My administration will continue to take bold action to meet the urgency of the climate crisis and to protect our lands and waters for generations to come."

The administration also proposed a rule on Wednesday that would protect 13 million acres in a different part of Alaska.

In short, NIMBYism (or something more nefarious) meets National Security...

Myth Busted: Europe Also Favored Fired Ukraine Prosecutor As Biden 'Quid-Pro' Cover Story Crumbles

Last month we noted that Victor Shokin - the former Ukrainian prosecutor that Joe Biden got fired, had been praised by former Secretary of State John Kerry - who congratulated Shokin about the job he was doing on corruption reforms. This was revealed in government memos obtained via a FOIA lawsuit filed by Just the News.

Victor Shokin
The memos completely undermine the narrative offered by Biden and establishment media that the reason Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion in US loan guarantees unless Shokin was fired, was because Shokin was Corrupt.

Now, as the NY Post's Miranda Divine (of Hunter Biden laptop scoop - turned censorship victim)reports - the Europeans thought Shokin was awesome too...

The European Commission praised Ukraine’s Prosecutor-General Viktor Shokin for his efforts to fight corruption in a December 2015 progress report published nine days after then-VP Joe Biden demanded his ouster.
https://nypost.com/2023/08/25/fired...r-shokin-says-he-believes-bidens-were-bribed/
The report flies in the face of Biden’s claims that the European Union joined his demands that Shokin be removed for being corrupt and obstructing anti-corruption reforms.

In fact, the Dec. 18, 2015, progress report, obtained by the New York Post, says that theEuropean Union was satisfied that Ukraine had achieved “noteworthy” progress, including in “preventing and fighting corruption,” and thus was eligible for visa-free travel in Europe. -NY Post
What's more, Europe's praise of Shokin included the fact that he helped in creating a specialized anti-corruption prosecutor's office, a crucial component to Ukraine's ability to combat "high-level corruption."

Both of these revelations fly in the face of as massive smear campaign against Shokin.
