1. The most obvious, Cam Smith was in the passing lanes like a wide receiver and the kid doesn't miss tackles. Future is very bright at the linebacker spot.
2. Cody Kessler has done some wonderful things in his time here at USC. But his pocket awareness when the rush is coming is non-exisistent. Instead of stepping up in the pocket, he folds like an arm chair, 2-3 of those sacks last night were on him. I hope Max Browne stands tall in the pocket and steps up when the bullets are coming next year.
3. Chris Brown, Khaliel Rodgers and Chuma provide us with the depth we need on the offensive line and Brown and Chuma will be starters next year. Banner will TRY to take his talent to the NFL, but he's a penalty waiting to happen.
4. Adoree has to know where he is on the field when he's returning punts and kick-offs. I know he's trying to make a play but he's putting the TEAM in really bad field position. Time and time again. JuJu too, catch the ball and go north and south. We were on the 5-10 yard line toooooooo many times because of their lack of awareness. Sometimes letting the ball roll into the end zone or taking a knee can be just as effective.
5. Ronald Jones II is our future, he is special but PLEASE install more ways to get him the ball. Stretch right, stretch right and stretch right. I know he scored on that dive, trap play but why are 95% percent of his runs are the same play. They need to play action more with him in the game because if I see the same play coming I'm sure everyone else does, install more plays for him other then the stretch right.
6. Biggie is a corner and will be a great one. He just needs to trust his technique which I think we'll start to see towards the end of the year and next year. Also the Pac-12 refs suck!
7. Best game I've ever seen Leon McQuay play, it's crazy that he'll be a senior next year but I'm hoping the light has finally come on. He has the talent.
8. Dom Davis could be and should be used like Utah uses that freshmen Ivoey. We tried to run that middle screen to him but it's tough with 3 new starters on the oline but I hope we keep trying to get him the ball in space.
9. Now I understand why we recruit and offer so many wide receivers, damn we are thin at that position!! So no more complaints from me and I hope we do sign Pittman, Sidney, Imatorbhebhe, Vaughns AND Theo Howard or Jack Jones who I personally think is amazing with the ball in his hands.
10. Clay Helton- he is and should be retained by USC but not as the head coach. As a man I respect him for stepping up and showing our young men what true leadership is, thank you Coach Helton!
