I just rewatched the 4th quarter (as painful as it was). Here are the offensive plays, in order, starting when we got the ball down 17-6 with 14 minutes left.

1st and Ten - swing pass to J Davis - 22 yard.
1st and ten - power run off right j Davis - 7 yards
So far so good
2nd and 4 - play action screen to j Davis dropped (was wide open, would have been an easy first down)
Wasted time out #1
3rd and 4 - deep pass to juju, not close, but bailed out by late hit on Kessler
1st and 10 - deep drop, Cody panics and throws it away, plus holding on wheeler
1st and 20 - power run right rojo - 15 yards
2nd and 5 - draw to rojo 22 yards
1st and goal at 1 - power run rojo TD
2 point conversion - swing pass to madden wide open and dropped

Summary - 5 passes, 1 completion, 2 drops; 4 run, 44 yards, 1 TD; 1 wasted TO

1st - play action, thrown away (no run?)
2nd - drop back, 3 yard completion (no run!?!)
3rd - shotgun spread, terrible throw in the flat incomplete but 7 yards short even if caught (this HAS to be on Kessler - you can't throw that pass there)

Summary - 3 passes, 1 completion, 3 yards, total momentum killer

1st - drop back pass to juju, 10 yards + 15 yr roughing penalty
1st - power run to rojo, 7 yards
Wasted TO #2 - brutal
2nd - power run to madden, 5 yards
1st - power run to madden, 12 yards (we're rolling!)
1st - play action to the end zone incomplete (no run?)
2nd - power run middle to rojo 4 yards (down to the 25)
3rd - shotgun pass, Kessler panic rollout and takes killer sack
4th - missed FG short from 45 with 4 mins left down 5 and 1 TO left

Summary - 3 passes, 1 completion, 10 yards; 4 runs, 28 yards; 1 wasted TO

Washington runs the clock out, game over.

I have to put the blame mostly on the coaches for the play calling. Passing plays were 3-11 and averaged about 3 yards a play. The 8 running plays went for 72 yards (9 yard avg). Clearly we should have stuck w the run. But Kessler also has to take a lot of the blame. He made some horrible decisions on the pass plays. The two wide open drops in the flat by the RBs were also killer. The two wasted TOs are inexcusable in a close game.

Very disappointing all the way around.
