Clay Helton revealed Sunday night that senior nickel Ajene Harris played for USC on Saturday a day after the death of his father.
Helton did not mention details of the situation, but he noted that Harris learned of the news before the team left Los Angeles.
"Just an absolute stud in my mind. After the loss of his father Friday morning, to choose to get on the plane with us and go there and honor his father by playing in that game, it was very emotional for our team as well as Ajene as well as our staff," Helton said. "I don't know if there's any more special kid that we have on this team than Ajene Harris, what he wanted to do for his brothers and his team, and I appreciate him."
