He may have been the most hated basketball coach in America but Knight is blunt when it comes to speaking the truth.. he said that John Wooden encouraged boosters in their recruitment of basketball players to UCLA especially Sam Gilbert who was known to pay players under the table and provide them with special favors. No news as far as we are concerned but unfortunately that wasn't during the internet age when all of this would have come out.
