ive not been a huge supporter of Helton but I will give props where props are due. Tremendous game plan and it’s hard to be upset with two straight years of major bowl appearances and a rose bowl win.
I will say this, I think this program could really take off if we address just a few things. Discipline is number 1 for me. Helton needs to be tougher on these kids when they get penalized for celebrating and unsportsmanlike penalties. They are killers and really stunts our ability to take over a game
2nd has to be secondary play. Not sure if this is Bradford’s fault but I have to put most of the blame on him when it’s clear we have a lot of talent back there
Finally, special teams needs to just be mediocre teams and not horrendous teams. Not sure what happened this year but it has been atrocious outside of field goal kicking. It could be as simple as finding a better punt returner. I do think Baxter has proven to be a good special teams coach in the past. Also very clear to see how important adoree was to our success last year
I know we are going to promote Tyson when tee takes another job but maybe we will be ok on that Side of the ball
Udeze is the man. This d line has turned into an absolute strength of the team and love what he is doing with guys like rector, pili, and Dorton. We don’t even have gustin right now
