Here are Helton's comments when asked about the QB situation with Kedon Slovis and JT Daniels, during an appearance on our Rivals' National Signing Day show:
"I played the position and have coached the position my entire career. I truly believe that competition makes everybody better, and the cream always rises to the top. Obviously Kedon had a wonderful year last year and we're expecting big things from him, but we're going to get to see JT. He's progressing nicely, he's going to get to the throw routes on air and one-on-one drills and 7-on-7 -- he won't be in any live work but he's going to start progressing that live work for fall training camp and that competition that goes. ... I always think once you're in college and the NFL, you're competing every year for your job -- that's just the nature of the beast."
