As USC began preparing for its final game of the 2018 season, four months ago today, there seemed to be several different directions the program might head in. Even if Clay Helton was retained, as he ultimately was, you knew there’d be changes elsewhere. They came quickly in the form of a few assistant coaches, but by Early Signing Day, with no players on the fence about declaring for the draft, the Trojans’ staff and roster for 2019 looked close to set.
The ensuing months, however, were marked by surprising (and sometimes controversial) defections. So we ask:
