During his time at Oklahoma, Grinch changed a struggling Sooners defense into one of the best in the Big 12. Even last year when Oklahoma fell off a bit on that side of the ball, Grinch’s unit still gave up just 25.7 points per game in a high-scoring conference in the Big 12. In addition to that, Grinch was reportedly a candidate for the head-coaching jobs at Arizona and UCF in December and January. Before that, Washington State apparently showed interest in January 2020.
