Saban gonna coach what, maybe 5 more years? He stays at Houston to work in relative autonomy with a billionaire board of regents head that will be certain to pay him and fund what he needs, continue to recruit a football rich state, compete in a league he certainly can be successful in and let his star continue to develop. Fertita said it best- if Herman doesn't feel he can compete for national titles- then he might go. And really, while not knowing these types of guys- that seems to drive them. So he gambles if he stays, that he can stay successful for next few years and when Saban quits or another glamour job opens- he goes to get it. Meantime he can make a top five paycheck at Houston.
