Overall, the fact that this game was never competitive is the bottom line.

1: This is clear coaching ineptness and leadership incapacity. We know this. Helton needs more moxie as a head coach. Kiffin was aloof and standoffish, Sark was too lit to know anything. Helton needs to man up or he will be looking at his wife in the face and she will be be one chewing his ass out for losing the keys to the kingdom. She will then say, "this is not an argument. It is a. Ass chewing. This is what you need to do at times when you're in authority. This is what you should have done to Tee Martin for running a joke of an offense. Now get your ass on the couch." I read earlier tha PC had a public persona and a coaching one. No one messed with him as a coach yet all performed for him. Saban has this. Meyer bad this. Herman, etc. it's standard head coach aura 101. Helton simply lacks this as we know. He doesn't get it in the same way the kid not picked on the playground doesn't understand that nobody picks him, NOT because they don't like him--in fact everyone likes the kid enough not to hurt his feelings--but because he can't catch the ball. That's why. Helton can't catch the ball per se.

2: The score was 13-10. Clancy did a great job'overal, but let's be real: he lacks position by position discipline over his players. You have to make each position player do their job in the micro (doing those own job right all the time) and the macro (in your scheme), or you are not the definition of a good coach. Sorry. That's just real. Our failure was two plays that Helton made excuses for: 1: Helton that Tell on the wheel route got his eyes stuck in the backfield and a really fast athlete sped down the sideline. Okay. Well, Helton, coaching moment. Ready...wait for it: Clay, my friend, that's called your player being eligible for an ass chewing because we don't let fast athletes run by unattended by us and let out eyes get caught in the backfield. We follow the real fast athletes down the field. Now, Clay, look at your player and chew his ass off. Go.

We have a bunch of players (biggie too) who allow this. Problem: head coaching making excuses for these guys and not chewing their ass out and working that same chewed out ads off in practice and this attitude trickles down to assistant coaches. You make an example of performance ineptness one time by working that guy hard and demoting him, and other players will not repeat those sins. Guarantee. Then you work your secondary out (the ones who failed) and drill your guys. If one receiver or running back is unattended even to the grocery store or his girlfriend's bed, you'd better be right on him too. That's Coaching again.

2: Now the reverse: seriously? This guy rector went untouched to the end zone. How inept of a coach. Defensive end but chew time. First Helton should have chewed out Pendergast. Clay, turn to your fed side coordinator now, chew him out. If he says anything back, remind him of your status over him. He will shut up and listen to you more. Chew harder. Tell him that those two plays are on him and that the score should not be 27-10 but 13-10.

If Helton was like this, Pendergast would work his guys to perfection becaue he wouldn't want the butt chewing. See how that works? All nice and tidy like.

3: offense: talent laden but coaching limited. This is all on Heltom for letting Tee hold him hostage. Take the playbook, Helton, burn it, and give the OC job to your little brother. If he fails, the find someone else. But get the job done or at least try. You are a dumb a
Dumb Schlick for making excuses instead of changes.

4: Oline: bench banner. Bring skirts to practice. And tell them that if they don't start putting the guy in front of hem on their back, they will practice with a skirt on until them do. Until then, put the skirt on yourself Helton.

5: Dline: they were useless. This isn't sanctions. This is desire. Mccaferty had a hole the size of a (---) fill in blank to run through. No penetration. Helton, put the skirt on yourself again. This time add a flowery head band.

I could go on. THe fact is that USC has stopped Competing. This is he overall theme I see in one word. This is the demise of the program. Not even under Kiff did USC not compete. Kiffin got fired, and people say he lost the team, but they still competed. Sark got the team to compete a little. Helton though has made this team incompetetive. This is the embarrassing part. This is why he must go. USC is uncompetive at every position and facet of the game.

What is your One Word theme for Helton and USC?
