With USC become a major player for any player it wants, with Ohio State proving they can beat out any SEC school for a given recruit, with Michigan likely to become a powerful southern brand again, with Florida State's rise to superpower status once again in recent years -- and to a lesser extent the successes of Clemson, UCLA (okay, significantly less here- but positive reception nonetheless), Penn State, etc., is it possible the SEC's southern fortress of talent from Louisiana over to Florida and Georgia is cracking?

Clemson may have eclipsed South Carolina as that state's top recruiting power. Florida State has certaintly eclipsed Florida. Georgia is a huge win for the SEC but you have to wonder how long A&M, LSU, etc., can sustain great Texas recruiting if Charlie Strong/UT and Oklahoma get their act together....

How far does that go? Is it a trend? Am I getting ahead of myself?
