That's why I think this next hire will be a home run. Lets start in 1987 when USC hired Larry Smith, who was 48-28-3 at Arizona and 33-46-1 at Missouri. That hire is similar to Sarkisian. John Robinson hire in 1993 was solid, but his USC teams in the 80's went downhill after 4 years and he did go 28-42 at UNLV. He did win a National Title, but so did Larry Coker. Was John Robinson even a good coach?? Then here comes the dumbest hire in Blue Blood history when Paul Hackett, who went 13-20 at Pitt was hired. Inexcusable hire. Pete Carroll in 2000'....lucky hire. Lane Kiffin in 2010' went 7-6 at Tennnessee and Steve Sarkisian was 34-29 at Washington. USC HAS NEVER HIRED A PROVEN WINNER!! I see about 10 coaches that can end this curse. Maybe Pete Carroll didnt do anything special?????....maybe he was just a competent coach.
