We've all had concerns with different position groups but there always seems to be an answer that gives us cause for optimism. Think freshmen to the rescue! Even the issues with Sark and coaching have seen some changes that have people more enthusiasm for a very successful season. However, I see a real area of concern and that's our kicking game. The reports I've seen show us with 2 average kickers, with neither one able to drive the ball into the end zone on kickoffs or consistently make field goals in excess of 35 yards. Even on these mid-range field goals the consistency is a concern.

Unfortunately, unlike our other issues I outlined above, there is no "fix" for this issue except play calling. Don't be surprised to see us eschewing the field goal and going for it on 4th down much more this year. I'm certain with the kind of schedule we play there will be some close games and our kicking game will come back to bite us. I just hope it doesn't derail our season.
