I just had a lengthy conversation with Keyshawn Johnson who said he has made it clear to coaches across the country that he wants offers for his son based on his abilities and not the reputation or success of his own whether at USC or in the NFL.
That point was apparently made clear to Steve Sarkisian during their meetings today. Of course, Keyshawn's success will play an influence but that's going to be a point of emphasis as Jr's recruitment continues.
It was also made clear to me that Jr will have to be recruited and that he's not just going to commit to USC because that was the best school for his father.
The quote was: "It's going to be tough for him not to go to USC and it's going to be tough for him to go to USC."
The meaning behind that was with Keyshawn's success at the school it will be tough for his son to live up to it and be compared to it constantly. But Keyshawn loves USC and believes it could be the best spot for his son.
More coming up soon.
