Nick Robinson, my nephew and protege'(of course I haven't beat
him since he was 13), has verbally committed to play golf at the University of
Wisconsin for the 2016 season. We all know how difficult it is just to make a team in college,
let alone receive a scholarship to play at a top-flight Division 1 school like
Wisconsin, so this is quite an accomplishment.
Nick wasn't even phased by the 0 degree weather and snow on the ground for his recruiting trip, which goes to show what a quality individual he is. Wisconsin showed him and his father a great time, getting to see the Badgers basketball and hockey team s play, and the great fans they have.
Even though Nick grew up rooting for USC and has been to many football games with me as I do not have any kids of my own, it just wasn't in the cards to play for his beloved Trojans.
I am so proud of Nick and all that he has accomplished with golf
and being a fine young man. On Wisconsin!
