Ryan, I know you have a lot of content planned and some new requests coming in all the time. Not a huge urgency, but could you do some digging and provide some insight into the interior d-line depth and maybe some predictions for next year? I’m specifically interested in the status of Pepe, Thompkins, Hughes, Abisiri, C.Jones, and Bulabalavu.
We added two (maybe three) interior d-lineman today. Numbers wise, it seems we have some depth (finally). We appear to have an elite position coach in that area.
One observation from this past year is that the interior lineman performed below average and were focused primarily on eating up space. My optimistic hypothesis is that the most “bang for the buck” for this team’s defense is improving interior d-line play. My logic… more disruptive run stopping inside = more 2nd and 3rd and long scenarios… which will create more favorable pass rushing / blitz opportunities.
Again, no rush, but any insight would be appreciated.
