OK, is it me or what? I know that the summer is time for re-runs. I can't find much of anything to watch other than all of these reality shows that are on. I do not like reality shows in general so that removes those for me.
I was thinking and it seems now - at least for the last couple of years, the quality of TV is shrinking - both in drama and comedy prime time shows. Now it could be me in terms of what I like and have enjoyed through the years. But, you look at numbers in terms of how many viewers there were of shows back in the late 1970's and in the 1980's and even into the 1990's, and you would get 16-20 million viewers per week re: given shows. Granted there are more choices - cable shows, etc., that were once not in existence. Now, on average, a fairly good night might me 7-8 million viewers.
I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on 1) the quality of tv shows today - both drama one hour shows and sit coms, and 2) maybe a list of your top 3-5 shows.
