The other day, my range-top microwave started acting up. Every time I would open it, it would start humming (as if the vent fan was turning on); the noise would stop when I would close the door. I was too busy to analyze the problem immediately, but it still heated up my food, so I figured "no big deal."
Then I started noticing how my hand would feel warm every time I would reach in there to situate a food container or to retrieve it. Come to find out that this fricking thing was cooking my hand! WTF??? Yeah, the damn thing is eight years old, but does it have to nuke my extremities??? My kids were heating up their food (errr...themselves) as well! That noise that I would hear is that of the microwave contraption spinning up its death rays.
What causes the power to turn on when you open the door and to shut down when you close the door??? Based upon past experience, I know that the grease and moisture can cause these things to break down, but seriously--was this thing hacked???
