Player responsibility for second half adjustments

I had another thread on coach responsibility for failure to make second half adjustments or to anticipate opponent adjustments.

I've been wondering about that, though. Our coaches have made some very effective game plans for opening quarters and halves. Notre Dame and several others come to mind, so it appears that the ability to develop an effective plan is there.

So maybe the players, especially our QB, bears some examination here? Is it the case that they are well prepared to execute the opening game plans but are unable to see adjustments that are needed, or unable to implement changes in the short prep time available between halves?

Opinions? Observations?
