Notes and key stats from USC's 23-21 loss to Wisconsin in the Holiday Bowl.

JuJu Smith-Schuster said he will have surgery next week on his hand. He said he suffered a shoulder sprain during the game.

Chris Hawkins said he will have surgery on his ankle, which has loose cartilage and bone chips. He said he's been playing through that the entire season.

USC finishes its season 8-6. It's the second time in four years that the Trojans lost six games. The previous occurrence was 2001.

USC fell to 6-1 all time vs. Wisconsin. This was USC’s first meeting vs. Wisconsin since 1966. The Holiday Bowl loss ended a 13-game USC win streak vs. teams from the Big Ten.

Cody Kessler finishes as USC’s career leader in completion percentage at 67.5%. The previous record was held by Matt Leinart (64.8).

Kessler’s 851 career completions and 88 TD passes are both third most ever at USC and his 10,339 career passing yards are fourth.

Kessler did not amass 250 passing yards in any of the final seven games. He topped that mark in five of the first seven games.

His interception to Sojourn Shelton late in the fourth quarter was the first by a Wisconsin cornerback since November of 2013.

JuJu's 89 catches place him seventh on USC’s single-season reception chart and 13th on the carer chart (143). His 1,454 receiving yards this year is third on USC’s season chart.

Tyler Petite’s 25-yard fourth-quarter reception was his season-long.

USC ran for a season-low 65 yards.

Ronald Jones II gained a team-high 47 yards on eight carries. He is just the second Trojan true freshman to lead the team in rushing, finishing with 987 yards. LenDale White (2003) was the other.

Justin Davis scored his sixth and seventh touchdowns of the year. His 92 all-purpose yards led the team. He finished the season with 902 rushing yards.

Darreus Rogers caught a touchdown for the third consecutive game.

USC's 286 yards of total offense were a season low.

The offense scored exactly three touchdowns for the fifth consecutive game.

Delvon Simmons recorded a career-high 10 tackles (seven solo), including 2 for loss, and a pass break-up.

Antwaun Woods had a career-high eight tackles.

Marvell Tell’s eight tackles were also a career best.

Adoree' Jackson and Biggie Marshall each had two pass break-ups.

Noah Jefferson made his first career start.

Wisconsin had the advantage in time of possession in every quarter and 37:18-22:42 for the game.

The Trojans have had to come from behind in all nine games they've played under Clay Helton this season. They rallied to lead in eight of them and managed to (briefly) tie Oregon.

USC was the first opponent Wisconsin beat with a winning record.
