last night, as the game was getting worse and worse, i commented to my buddy, loudly, that it sure would be nice if petersen were coaching our guys right now. a guy in the seat in front of me -- wearing a usc jersey -- turns and says petersen said no to sc. i said "are you sure? that's not what i heard." he said "yes" and insisted that pat offered petersen the job and that petersen turned him down. does anyone on here know the truth? if petersen said no, that's one thing. if pat said no, that's athletic director malpractice.
