RIVALS SUBSCRIPTION AND WHAT WENT WRONG

Just got off the phone with Yahoo Customer Service regarding a billing for $99.95 to my Rivals account covering Trojan football. I wanted to cancel last April, but they twisted my arm and extended me to 8/15 which was a Saturday. I had other things on my mind on the weekend and neglected to call on Monday, but then again, it would have been too late to do anything.My credit card billing ends on the 17th and I received the statement yesterday and there, lo and behold, was a Rivals billing for $99.95.

Rivals says that since I took the offer of extension, I was required to call prior to 8/15 to cancel the offer. If not, they bill me for an additional year. No consideration of refund for the unused portion of the subscription - at least $90. Therefore, I cancelled the subscription and it runs through 8/15/16 a year away. I have since received emails from both Yahoo Customer Care and The Rivals Team confirming the cancellation date as being either 8/15 or 8/21 (I am presuming it is the 15th.

I seriously doubt that I will be posting or visiting this site in the coming year.

I am advising all those who have taken advantage of subscription extensions to make sure that you cancel prior to the end of the extension. Don't get screwed like me!!! There is no such thing as refund when you speak with Yahoo!!
