Arkansas State had 16 full possessions, scored 6 points, turned the ball over 4 times -- including a FR for a TD. So, in 16 possessions the SC defense scored just as much as the Arkansas State offense.
The USC offense had 14 full possessions (doesn't include the Cody sack at the end of the Half), scored 7 TDs (one of which was following Su'a's Pick Return to the 5 yard line), with no turnovers.
The SC defense was about as stellar as it gets -- going net neutral scoring (net positive if you include Su'a's Pick Return) -- over 16 possessions for Arkansas State, which had a pretty decent offense in 2014.
The SC offense was a little more complicated. We scored TDs on 3 of our final 4 possessions (which included the 5 yard TD drive following Su'a's IR) .... but, before that, we had only scored in 4 of our first 10 possessions -- all being TDs.
The offense has to get going earlier. Scoring in only 2 of the first 6 possessions against Arkansas State was not good.
