There's no question the USC offense is awful. And to some degree you can rationalize why it has dropped off so much (Sam Darnold, Ronald Jones, True Freshman QB/WR, mediocre OL coach, No tight end, etc.).
But I am really mystified by how lackluster our defense has been. Especially, with the experience/depth on D-Line, Cam Smith returning, Porter Gustin returning, LB depth/experience, the DB's returning with lots of experience. The Defense has been a real disappointment.
Total Defense is #69 in the nation, 381 yards per game...here are some teams that are better than USC on defense:
