The USC administration does love football,

They just don't really care if we win or lose. The big donors want to attend posh tailgate events and feel superior in knowing we have a nice guy as head coach. Harsh but true. I know because I was one of that group. During the '80's and 90's that was all we had. Pete Carroll ruined our expectation. He made us believe and savor victory. We bought in and knew we could and would win. This administration wants USC to excel in academics and be a "Harvard" of the West. Toward that goal they have raised about four and a half billion dollars. The money football garners is peanuts compared to this. The admin doesn't want any football drama, no possible infractions. At the expense of a few victories a year they have opted for vanilla. I will always love USC football, but I want the feeling Pete awakened in us back. Sadly, it will be years before those days return if the current Admin mindset continues.
