After hosting a contingent of Texas Longhorns on Wednesday evening, including head coach Tom Herman, Bru McCoy is still expected to transfer to USC.

The Class of 2019 wide receiver has been in Southern California since finishing up his spring semester and does not intend to return to Austin, per sources. I'm told he'll likely enter the transfer portal Thursday or Friday. McCoy refrained from doing so earlier out of respect for the Longhorns, which sent a last-minute caravan to Los Angeles upon learning McCoy wanted to leave Texas.

OrangeBloods.com reported their sources inside the program are "pretty quiet" regarding the meeting, while noting Herman & Co. did not receive a commitment from McCoy.

The move from Texas back to USC is one that McCoy has been weighing for some time but came unexpectedly for the Longhorns. Sources say at the root of his change of heart is a desire to be closer to family and play alongside close friends. I mentioned previously that JT Daniels and Amon-Ra St. Brown have been in contact with McCoy throughout this process.

Asked for the level of certainty that McCoy will indeed transfer to USC, a well-placed source replied, "very high."

The following was tweeted out this morning by Texas starting safety Caden Sterns (and subsequently liked by QB Sam Ehlinger, who was reportedly among the fleet to meet with McCoy on Wednesday):

Several other Longhorns have since chimed in with similar sentiments. They know.
