Stepp is from Indianapolis and was committed to Notre Dame until recently. He has a previous relationship with Deland McCullough, as the USC RB coach played football with his father at Miami of Ohio and is considered a family friend of the Stepp's.
Helmholdt told me just now that USC is diving in again with both feet and that Stepp is considering an official visit to USC. He says he'll have a full story tomorrow.
