Hey gang, so I've been knocked out by an aggressive fever and related symptoms the last two days. I chalk it up to what, in hindsight, was a not very well thought-out plan to try to save money on that Heisman trip, lol.
Because we have Cotton Bowl, All-American Bowl, UA All-America Game and Polynesian Bowl all ahead in the next month ($$$$$), I thought I would be clever with the NYC trip. The plan was to take a redeye Thursday night to Newark (eliminating the need for a hotel that night), to then stay in Newark (1/3 the price of NYC last weekend) and to fly home at 5 am Sunday (thus eliminating need for Saturday hotel as well). What resulted was me sleeping a half dozen hours total over 3.5 days and running myself into the ground. I had the 5 am flight Sunday morning out of Newark after working 16.5 straight hours, but by the time I got to DFW for my connection I was done. I skipped the connecting flight, got a hotel here in Dallas and went to sleep. Took me most of the last two days to feel right again, but anyways, I'm back and ready for a full week!
About to fly home from DFW finally. When I get back, I will write up a good story on latest commit Jamil Muhammad, who was an awesome interview last night. He really impressed me in the kind of way that makes me believe just by talking to the guy that he's going to be a difference-maker. We've got a bunch else coming the rest of the week as well. And Matt is plugged in on all recruiting matters also.
All of that said, I think the Heisman trip was absolutely worth it!
