Okay, Helton is a good guy but there is no more debate about him returning next year. This team is young and has great talent. We had a lot of good play today on both sides of the ball. Take away a few plays that we blew with mental errors, and we would have had an even game, and this is a very different Oregon team than earlier in the season. Not many teams would beat them.
I'm confident that this team will beat UCLA and get another shot at Stanford. Next year's coaching staff will have a very full cupboard. I don't know who the best guy is (and I think it will be based on more than whose team looked good this week), but there are several candidates that have done great track records as teachers and motivators. Next year, we could be like Michigan this year except that we have a lot more talent. Call me stupid, but I'm optimistic.
