I"m sorry, but it is true. I've had to miss the last two games but I read and listened to the podcasts about the amazing transformation in the team. What a crock!
I'm back watching SC and all I see is the same shit. I see:
1) Total lack of even attempting to run the ball for the first quarter and a half
2) Piss poor blocking
3) Cody turning in another horrible performance. Locking on to 1 one-handed receiver, holding the ball too long. He's taking shots because he is so fundamentally unsound. Although its obvious Zona is bringing the house, Cody is too inept to understand he needs to get it to his hot routes. Hope the pain motivates you to use your brain. Terrible under-throws and panic throws that are thrown at 100 mph to a receiver 5 yards away. Cody is the closest thing to Jim Everett I've ever seen. He has virtually zero composer. He is a nervous nelly in the pocket! We should have started Brown this year, he is the real deal while Cody is just a mediocre player in a QB friendly system.
4) I see Adore fielding kicks in a fashion that is bound to bite us in the ass one day, so dangerous and dumb, yet no coaches telling him to knock this undisciplined shit off. Shows that Helton and our coaches are not ready for the bright lights, they care too much what the players think of them.
5) Wilcox's D, or ah, lack of any D at all. I wish I knew of a stronger word than suck because Wilcox deserves it. He is beyond sucking.
6) I see we ran a few times, then hit some throws to tie it up, great................not! Stupid coaching, why wait till 6 minutes left in the 1st half to actually make a real attempt to run the ball. Oh by the way, we ran it and scored easily with the pass. All this proves is nothing has changed, still the moronic and epic-ally stupid favoring of our pathetically designed passing game We still want to look good rather than win. We're not winners because we don't put winning as our top priority. We care about form over function, the trait of perfect losers.
7) Still no clue how to use Steven Mitchell. He's our best open field runner, lets throw him the balls parallel to the line of scrimmage. That way he'll have no momentum and will be in a static position and will not be able to use any of his elusiveness. Let's never send him out on real routes with the intention of getting him the ball in the open field. Real smart!
ND game = shitty
Utah = good, I guess although how good is Utah? I watched them tonight and they look pathetic.
Washington should have beat them tonight so how good are they and how good is our Utah win really?
Cal game = nothing special
Tonight = same dumb-ass Trojans, sloppy and stupid play.
I'm sorry but SC is so hard to watch. I put on Bama and I see powerful players executing and playing beautiful smash mouth football. Their D's are so fundamentally sound, the tackling is so beautiful to watch.
SC, lets' see, we have small safeties playing linebacker for us. We take all our large guys and shrink them down BY CHOICE. We have a D that gives it up faster than a $2 wore.
Really, I see nothing but the same shit, there is no future here, I wanted to believe in Helton, I like him but to be honest he lost me on the 2 minute drill v Notre Dame. The stupidity there shook me to my core. How many more surprising stupid ideas can we expect and when will they manifest themselves if a coach actually thinks taking 4 minutes to move the ball 30 yards down 2 scores with 4 minutes left in the game is the correct way to run the 2 minutes drill. "lets break every fundamental rule by throwing 5 yards INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD! I still have nightmares about our last 2 possessions v Stanford and ND. Never seen anything like it............beyond stupid!
I've seen enough to know there is no hope of real change with Helton. I don't care if he wins out. The Pac sucks, its not if you win, its how you play. We have a HUGE talent advantage over the rest of the Pad so inept victories do not cut it. Lose 1, win 2, lose another, that is called being mediocre, which we've been for over 10 years now.
