Bru McCoy’s expected transfer to USC is further in motion.
The USC compliance office is in the process of getting McCoy back into the school, per sources. There is hope that because McCoy apparently didn’t file a waiver with the NCAA for immediate eligibility, and he also might have only signed a financial aid agreement but not a letter of intent with the Longhorns, he could actually be eligible to play this season for the Trojans -- his original team. That remains unclear given the uniqueness of the situation. But I’m told USC is deciphering how to present this case.
Further, the reported visits from Tom Herman and other members of the Texas football program have been expected by McCoy, who has remained in Southern California for the beginning of the Longhorns’ offseason conditioning program and has communicated he does not intend to return to the Lone Star State.
