Oregon setting records vs SC's defense. Our offense was ok, not great. 424 yards of offense and 124 yards in penalties. The penalties really hurt us again. And our play on offense is pretty sporafic. I do think the injuries to tuerk, toa and viane have hurt us, but we should be playing better.
Our d was terrible. This is what I saw from Wilcox at UW. He would do pretty well against the average or bad offenses and terrible against all the good ones. Just like this yr with stan, nd and oregon. We have lost to 3 of the 4 good teams we have played. Those are the only teams with a decent amount of high level 4 and 5 star recruits. And still, those teams have about half the 4 and 5 stars that we have.
Oregon's 578 yards was a season-high by a USC opponent.
Vernon Adams became the first quarterback to ever throw six touchdowns in a game vs. USC. The Pasadena product said he rooted for the Trojans as a kid.
"It means a lot," Adams said. "I always wanted to play at 'SC my whole life. And it was one of my favorite schools growing up."
Adams completed 20 of 25 passes for 407 yards. He averaged 16.2 yards per attempt. (Kessler averaged 5.8.)
Royce Freeman's 147 yards were a season high for a USC opponent. He averaged 7.3 yards over 20 carries.
Five Oregon receivers had at least 50 yards receiving.
