Four-star cornerback Trestin Castro has put together an impressive offseason helping him move up the ranks. He committed to USC back in April and has remained steady in his pledge to the Trojans since then. Still, other schools have not given up, and that led to an official visit to Texas last month in addition to a return trip to USC.

I caught up with Castro to discuss his two June visits, the message he's hearing from the staff, his plans looking into the future and a lot more. You can read the full update at the link above.

USC's always gonna be home for all the guys from Cali and everybody else. ... The guys that are committed, we're gonna ball no matter what."

Internal versus external perspectives on Lynn and Henderson

So we all drink the cardinal and gold Kool-Aid and think it's ridiculous for any defensive recruit to not sign up to play for these guys. I just wonder about the outside-in perspective as well as the negative recruiting talk tracks. Lynn could be seen as still a neophyte, and he may not have that dynamic or compelling of a personality that can attract recruits. As for Henderson, people could perceive or portray him as one who rides on Aaron Donald's success. Ultimately, the proof is in the pudding, and we will have to wait for them to show out on the field. So anyway.. back to Jerrybed's countdown....

-9 were already committed and remain committed
-1 was committed and is no longer (Hylton Stubbs)
-5 committed to USC after their visits
-14 have since committed elsewhere

And here's where things stand with the rest:
