Aj Tuitele signed with Washington State last month then Jake Dickert left and he was able to get his release from the Cougars before opening up his recruitment just before Christmas. A couple week later, the Trojans came calling and he visited USC over the weekend. Now the Trojans are battling with in-state school UNLV for his commitment. Tuitele grew up a USC fan, and the Trojans have certainly put themselves in a strong position ahead of his official visit to UNLV this weekend. Regardless, he is not announcing a commitment until Feb. 4 at this rate but says his future school will be informed of the decision beforehand.

He was not planning to enroll early at Washington State and will not be an early enrollee at USC or UNLV, so he is not in a big rush to go public at this point.

The Trojans showed him a lot on his visit and are certainly trending in the right direction. An exact position has not been decided yet, but the likely scenario is that he comes in as an edge rusher at USC though he could end up moving to linebacker when all is said and done. It's a bit open ended right now.

“That was just a welcoming environment. Everybody, they welcomed me with open arms. And it’s like I knew these people for a long time, but I just met them, basically. They made me feel like I was part of their family already, like I was part of the team.”
