TrojanSports.com has confirmed that four-star tailback, and Oregon commit, Vavae Malepeai did in fact visit USC this past weekend for an official visit.

Malepeai has been on USC's radar for sometime. The 6-foot, 190-pound back has been visited by USC coaches both in-home and on campus. He contemplated a trip out to USC back in the summer but never made it. At one point, it was reported that he was actually scheduled for an official visit to USC but he shot that down to both TrojanSports.com and Rivals.com's Blair Angulo.

We caught up with Malepeai at the U.S. Army Game practices on Jan. 5 as we knew was a continuous effort by USC. This is what we posted to the board at that time (Thread: Four-star tailback in contact with USC: https://usc.forums.rivals.com/threads/4-star-tailback-in-contact-with-usc.34926/#post-365523):

"Miliani, HI HS RB Vavae Malepeai says that he's in contact with USC and that he's hosted USC on an in home visit.

Malepeai, however, says that there's no chance he ends up at USC, so no story coming hahahahaha.

He's currently committed to Oregon."

Malepeai also confirmed with Blair Angulo that he was 100-percent committed to Oregon after the Army Game week.

Because of all the secretiveness, and the fact that Malepeai visited USC despite Oregon's strict policy that forbids the team's committed recruits from visiting other campuses, I believe Malepeai will end up as a Trojan on signing day.
