Versatile San Diego-area recruit David Peevy is focused on a handful of schools, including USC, entering the fall.

The thought has been that Daivd Peevy would be making his decision soon between USC and Oregon. He thought that, too. But, it is proving to be more difficult to decide on one school than he originally thought, so now he has no plan for when it will happen. The Trojans and the Ducks remain the two schools out front, but Washington has become a bigger part of the picture as well. He also says that San Diego State and Utah State remain as part of his top group as well. Barring a big change, he is likely to end up at either USC or Oregon, though. I was able to head out to watch him last week, and he definitely has some impressive qualities as an edge rusher. He has great size for the position, and he is really only touching the surface of what he can become. He also plays offense and caught a touchdown pass from his tight end position, but the plan is to play defense in college.
USC has already had him on campus multiple times this year, and he says the coaches are urging him to come out again this season. However, for now he has no visit with the Trojans set up. He will take a visit to Washington in a few weeks followed by a return trip to Oregon. Once he does take those visits it's possible he gets closer to making a decision. Still, USC remains one of the schools he's focused on most in the process.
One thing that has his attention is the move to the Big Ten. It lines up with his own personal aspirations, and that could be big for the Trojans.
“Of course, who wouldn’t want to go play in the Big Ten? That’s great competition. I want to personally be drafted one day, and the Big Ten gets a lot of notice from the NFL. So, that definitely could acquire my decision.”
You can read the full update at the link above, and I included some video clips from his game Friday night. It was a tough loss for Lincoln, which didn't play well, but Peevy was the most impressive player on the field for Lincoln that game. He recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage before it was wiped away by a penalty (bad call) on one of his teammates. He also had a big sack and was generally disruptive.
