USC was in shells and shorts today. Practice lasted just over two hours.

We've seen a lot of Cam Smith and Michael Hutchings paired together on the first team recently. I'm getting the sense that Hutchings' play in camp is causing the coaches to seriously consider using him at the weakside spot over Osa Masina and Quinton Powell. With Powell out, Masina and Olajuwon Tucker are taking a lot of the second-team reps.
USC next practices Thursday at Howard Jones at 3 p.m. The Trojans will scrimmage on the same field Friday for their final practice of training camp.
