Notes and observations from today's practice ...
Today was the more pass-heavy session, which seems to be a bit looser because it encourages the skill players to make plays.
Something I'm not questioning but was surprised to see: there hasn't been a lot of scout team work. At the same time, a significant amount of practice is being spent on individuals and special teams. The length of team periods has definitely been reduced under Clay Helton.
11-on-11:
Cody Kessler hits JuJu Smith-Schuster over the middle.
Biggie Marshall causes an incompletion with tight D on a deep throw to Darreus Rogers.
Adoree' Jackson breaks up a pass to De'Quan Hampton.

Kessler tries to hit JuJu in the corner against double coverage and it falls incomplete. He's fortunate he wasn't picked off there.
Kessler checks down to Aca'Cedric Ware, who's gotten more reps the past couple days.
Kessler checks down again but doesn't look before he throws and is picked off by Chris Hawkins.

Adoree' breaks up a pass to JuJu.
For the second day in a row, Jalen Greene and Deontay Burnett were targeted a lot.
Burnett catches a jump ball down the sideline. I believe Isaiah Langley was in coverage. Max Browne gave him a shot and Burnett rewarded it with an outstanding play downfield.
Jackson alternated between offense and defense in this period.

Kessler hits Steven Mitchell Jr. for a short pass.
Ware takes a handoff off tackle for a long gain.
Burnett beats a defender on a double move and and catches a touchdown right up the seam. He looks like the No. 2 to me, although his snap count has been dramatically cut the past two games since breaking out vs. Cal.
Kessler hits Greene over the middle.
Kessler throws a bit high to Rogers and it's tipped for another interception, this one to Ykili Ross. Rogers would tell you he should have corralled it.

Kessler goes back to Adoree' over the middle but it's underthrown.
Kessler makes a strong throw to Greene toward the sideline.
A screen to Burnett goes for a big gain.
Practice closes with Sam Darnold hitting Caleb Wilson over the middle for a touchdown. Just like yesterday.
