USC will have a bunch of top 2020 and 2021 prospects on campus Saturday, but just as important, the Trojans are hosting Tennessee OT transfer Drew Richmond.
Richmond was a 5-star prospect, the No. 2 offensive tackle and the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2015 class out of Memphis, Tenn., when he signed with the Vols. Brett McMurphy reported on Jan. 11 that Richmond, who served as Tennessee's starting right tackle as a redshirt-junior last season, was transferring.
Listed at 6-foot-5, 316 pounds, he started 25 games over the last three seasons, and the Knoxville News-Sentinel reported he qualifies as a graduate transfer.
The newspaper quoted Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt saying this of Richmond and linebacker Austin Smith leaving the program: "These guys have done a good job. They've done a good job since I've been here. I can't do nothing but wish them the best."
We'll have more coverage from USC's Junior Day tomorrow, as well as any other updates on Richmond's visit that we can get.
