Front 4 on our defense and scheme

It seems to me like our front four just run straight ahead into blockers and get very little or negative push. This is particularly true of the two down lineman. It seems like this is part of Clancy's strategy for the tackles to eat up blocks and let the line backers roam.

However, it seems to me like this strategy allows the offensive lineman to explode off the ball because they always know where our defensive tackles will be. If we had our tackles hitting gaps it would give the offensive lineman less leverage, reduce their ability to push us back, and necessite more double teams as the olinemen would probably require more help.

For someone in the know. Am I I correct in my assessment of the defensive tackle responsibilities in Clancy's defense? If so, do you think we should be attacking gaps more?
