USC has lost another of its recruiting anchors. Eric Ziskin, whose official title is assistant athletic director-recruiting and player personnel and who oversees all facets of the football team’s recruiting department, has left the program.

Ziskin was in his second tenure at USC after briefly leaving a few years ago. Sources tell me he is financially well off and has decided to step aside from the industry for now.

This is a considerable blow to a recruiting staff that was already shorthanded and recently saw the defection of star recruiting director Alex Rios.

I’ve been told the lack of manpower has forced the staff to often work around the clock and ultimately played a part in driving some personnel away.
