Townsend came on so strong that he has worked his way into the starting role. I think Pelon was playing pretty well too. Sark has acted like Delvon Simmons will be an all pac 12 players this year. He seems to have singled him out out as the best DL this year along with townsend. Townsend was a very high level recruit, but has had so many injuries. Maybe Platt missing time, hurt him a little on the depth chart. It seems like Felix simply played better during this camp, but it may just may be that ruffin was injured and Gustin is young. But it is great see Felix and hawkins playing better as they are really hard workers and true trojans.
Besides those players some pleasant surprises are: Darreus Rogers playing well, Toa possible being the top Oline on the team, Ware exceeding all expectations, Mitchell being a new dynamic play maker, Gustin being pretty dominant in the pass rush, tell being a viable option at safety, sarao being named a captain, Lockett stepping up even though Seymour played great in spring, Tuerk being named a top 2 center in the nation, Mcnamara going to the top of the depth chart and possibly being a legitimate blocker at the d1 level, Petite being a viable option as a receiving te, Tober providing some wr depth, Browne looking great on deep throws and playing at about the same level as Kessler, Juju playing like a senior, Madden looking good, and having very few long term injuries so far.
