National recruiting analyst Adam Gorney has updates on the top uncommitted quarterbacks from the Class of 2017.
The only one USC appears to be targeting is Hawaii's Tua Tagovailoa. Here's what Gorney said about his recruitment:
"USC is the team to beat at this point for Tagovailoa, who has told (Rivals.com's Blair) Angulo that if he needed to sign right now, it would be the Trojans. The St. Louis standout is not getting pushed necessarily to commit by the USC coaching staff and the four-star is not in a rush.
"Watch out if Oregon offers. Tagovailoa, the third-best dual-threat QB, goes to the same high school that Marcus Mariota attended and the two have been compared, fairly or unfairly, so that could play a big factor in his early recruitment. Also, the Ducks have had tremendous success recruiting Hawaiian players and that could influence Tagavailoa moving forward.
"As for a decision timetable, Tagavailoa could wait through his junior season. It's expected by sometime around this time next year the 2017 four-star wants to have it done."
