For our P12 teams the NFL draft allows a good observation of the level of the talent lost. No better evaluation than a group of professionals doing the selection. Here is how it breaks down per P12 conference team in order of those played by USC. And first by USC itself.

USC: Draftees: Rd 2: OLB Sua Cravens. Rd 3: C Max Tuerk and QB Cody Kessler. Rd: 6 CB Kevon Seymour. Notable Undrafted: DT Delvon Simmons and DE Greg Townsend Jr and DT Antuawn Woods. Many valuable players on DLine in particular leaving a hole, and losing QB Kessler and his experience. Note that overall there wasn't a lot of seniors and EE's lost. This is actually a sign of the ongoing effect of the sanctions. This year there was the first reduced number of players , modified some by transfers, that hit the Senior Class, i.e. most of the class of 15 total recruits in 2012 moving forward to become seniors last year (2015).

at Stanford: Draftees: Rd 1: OG Joshua Garnett. Rd 3: TE Austin Hooper. Rd 4: ILB Blake Martinez. Rd 5: QB Kevin Hogan. Rd 6: OT Kyle Murphy. Notable Undrafted: WR Devon Cajuste, DE Brennan Scarlett, DT Aziz Shittu and SS Kody Whitfield. That's also a lot of talent lost at QB, on the OLine and front seven on D. Good to get them early. Some drop off expected on O and maybe D.

at Utah: Draftees: Rd 4: RB Devontae Booker Notable Undrafted: QB Travis Wilson, LBs Gionni Paul and Jared Norris. P Tom Hackett, DE Jason Fanaika. They lose 11 starters including their QB Wilson, top runner and top 4 receivers and a drop-off may be expected after their best year in the PAC.

Arizona State: Draftees: Rd 5: OG Christian Westerman. Rd 7: WR Devin Lucien. Notable Undrafted: QB Mike Bercovici, WR DJ Foster, OC Nick Kelly, CB Lloyd Carrington. Overall there are only 10 returning starters

Colorado: Draftees: None. Notable Undrafted: WR Nelson Spruce, OT Stephane Nembot, CB Ken Crawley. Another team that loses little and could surprise a few teams, at Colorado. USC plays them at the Coliseum.

At Arizona: Draftees: Rd 6: SS Will Parks. Rd 7: ILB SCooby Wright III. Notable Undrafted: P Drew Riggleman, WR Caleb Jones, DE Reggie Gilbert., The O should still be potent and the D questionable..

California: Draftees: Rd 1: QB Jared Goff. Rd 5: WR Trevor Davis. Rd 7: RB Daniel Lascoe and WR Kenny Lawler. Notable Undrafted: WR Bryce Treggs, OG Jordan Rigsbee, and OLB Jalen Jefferson. Gone are their #1 draft pick QB Goff and 6 of his top receivers. Expect a drop-off on O as a minimum.

Oregon: Draftees: Rd 1: DE Deforest Buckner. Rd 7: ILB Joe Walker. Near the first pick (7) and the last one (251). Notable Undrafted: QB Vernon Adams, WR Braylon Addison, OL starters C Matt Hegarty and OT Tyler Johnstone, and front 7 D starters- DT Alex Balducci, LBs Tyson Coleman, and Rodney Harrick. Vernon Adams came in on a transfer and looked good but now they repeat that with Montana State's Dakota Prukop at QB facing Virginia and at Nebraska in his first battles. The O should do OK, but the D has more holes than last year.

at Washington: Draftees: Rd 6: OLB Travis Feeney. Rd 7: RB Dwayne Washington (Backup runner).Notable Undrafted: DT Tanelia Tupou, WR Jaydon Mickens. and OLB Cory Littleton. They lose very little and are one of the pre-season darlings of the P12.

at UCLA: Draftees: Rd 1: DT Kenny Clark. Rd 2: OLB Myles Jack. Rd 5: OT Caleb Bennenoch and RB Paul Perkins and WR Jordan Payton. Rd 7: OLB Aaron Wallace and TE Thomas Duarte and WR Devin Fuller. They had more draftees than Alabama or Notre Dame. . Notable Undrafted: OC Jake Brendel and K Ka'imi Fairbairn and OG Alex Redmond. Yeah, they have QB Josh Rosen, but losing 3 of their top 4 receivers hurts, and losing 4 starting OL indicates that Josh needs to oil up them running shoes. On D they lost only 3 starters, but 2 highly important ones. Can UCLA reload? I expect better than the 8-5 last year but not better than the 6-3 in conference.

A lot of down teams maybe. It could come down to the USC vs. UCLA game for the P12 South and then play Washington? Right now I say USC goes 7-2 in conference for 9-3 overall pre-P12 playoff.
