Any reason why we do not hear their names around the program or in the press much and have not for quite a while? One Heisman recipient and the other of Notre Dame lore. 2022 will be the 50th Anniversary of the 1972 Notre Dame game where Davis scored 6 touchdowns. I will never forget the headline on Sunday in the LA Times - DAVIS DAVIS DAVIS DAVIS DAVIS DAVIS. He ran two touchdowns back for kickoffs. A great Saturday in the Coliseum.
Plus, it will be the 50th Anniversary of that 1972 team that went undefeated, winning the National Title. That team is still thought/considered by many to be the best college football team of all time.
